Product development / Yueqing electrical sourcing

Your electrical idea.
A clear next step.

Bring a drawing, reference sample or proposed modification. We coordinate feasibility, prototypes, tooling and production planning with suitable Yueqing electrical factories, with the scope and cost agreed at each stage.

Local supplier coordination in Yueqing. Engineering, manufacture and specialist tests are carried out by the responsible factory or an agreed technical partner.

Start with the change you need

Define the product.
Confirm the factory's scope.

We turn your brief into questions for suitable suppliers: what can be adapted, what needs engineering, which samples are useful and what it may cost to produce.

Existing electrical models

Review a supported variant.

Discuss the required ratings, connections, accessories or configuration against a factory's existing range. The manufacturer confirms feasibility, the affected specification and any verification needed for the proposed change.

Housings & mechanical parts

Resolve fit and mounting.

Coordinate drawings for dimensions, mounting points, terminals, cable entries or other interfaces. Agree materials, tolerances, finish and the effect on the product's protection and performance before production.

Components & assemblies

Define the complete build.

For an agreed assembly project, confirm the bill of materials, approved components, wiring or terminal arrangement, drawings and test requirements with the responsible manufacturer.

New designs

Assess the development route.

Share your application, drawings and target specification. We ask suitable factories about engineering capability, prototypes, tooling and production. Electronics, firmware and other specialist work need a confirmed technical provider and scope.

One brief. Clear responsibilities.

You approve the requirements and project decisions. We coordinate supplier communication, offers, samples and progress. The agreed manufacturer or technical partner performs the specified design, engineering and testing work.

Agree what each sample will establish

Use the right sample
for the decision.

The quotation identifies the sample quantity, materials, production method, checks, deliverables and known differences from the intended production product. Use our sample approval checklist ↗

Appearance & fit sample

Review shape and interfaces.

A drawing-based mock-up, 3D print or machined sample may help assess dimensions, mounting and handling. The supplier confirms the method. Fit approval applies to the agreed physical features; electrical performance needs its own verification.

Functional prototype

Check the specified functions.

Agree which features will work, the components used and the test conditions. Record results and open items against the prototype revision. Prototype materials and build methods may differ from the planned production version.

Pre-production sample

Approve the production reference.

Confirm the intended materials, components, tooling, finish, markings and packing. Identify the tests and documents still required before release, and retain an agreed sample or specification as the production reference.

Keep revisions under control.

Record the drawing version, sample ID, bill of materials, requested changes, test results and your approval. Confirm any further revision, sample cost or schedule change before the next round starts.

Plan electrical verification early.

Agree ratings, operating conditions, destination requirements and the verification plan with the responsible manufacturer or testing partner. A sample review covers the stated checks; certification and specialist tests need a confirmed scope and quotation.

Before approving a mould or tool

Agree the tooling.
Agree the ownership.

Ask whether existing tooling can meet the approved design or whether a new mould, die, fixture or modification is required. Review the tool proposal and trial requirements before authorising the expense.

Tooling payments, trial samples and production orders have separate approval milestones. The offer states what each payment covers.

Specification and acceptance
Tool reference, drawing revision, material, cavity or fixture arrangement, critical dimensions, trial samples and agreed acceptance checks.
Cost and payment stages
Design or modification work, tool manufacture, trials, revisions, maintenance commitments and any stated production-life terms.
Ownership, access and reuse

Drawings and project files
The files, formats and records to be delivered, the rights to use them and any confidentiality or sharing arrangements. File rights and physical-tool ownership are agreed explicitly.
Minimum order quantity and project budget

Price the development.
Then price production.

A sample stage and a production run can have different minimums. We request the MOQ and price for your exact models, variants, materials and expected order quantities.

How the development route affects MOQ and cost
Development routeWhat sets the minimumCosts to confirm
Adapt an existing modelFactory availability, model and rating variants, materials and the proposed modificationSample preparation, supported changes, verification work and price per approved variant

There is no universal MOQ for a new electrical product. The quote states sample quantities and production minimums per agreed variant. Paying for development or tooling does not by itself place a bulk production order.

Development stage

Engineering & samples.

Feasibility work, drawing preparation, prototypes, sample components, test setup, revisions and sample freight, as specified in the accepted offer.

Tooling stage

Moulds, dies & trials.

New tools or alterations, fixtures, trial runs and agreed corrections. Confirm what the quoted price includes and how additional changes will be approved.

Production stage

Units, checks & dispatch.

Materials, manufacture, assembly, agreed inspections, required testing, markings, packaging and shipping. Recurring charges are confirmed in the production quotation.

Review before each stage:
  • Deliverables, drawings, sample or production quantities and acceptance criteria
  • One-time development charges, tool costs and unit prices
  • Pro or Basic scope and the product-value basis used for the fee
  • Testing, documentation, packing and freight included or excluded
  • Payment milestones, revision terms, ownership and proposed dates

Before a development project starts

Development questions,
answered.

Send the current reference, proposed changes and target quantity. We will confirm the suitable supplier, development stage and quotation.

Can I start with an idea rather than finished drawings?

Yes. Share the application, reference images or sample, dimensions, ratings and the problem you want to solve. We coordinate a feasibility discussion with suitable factories. Any design or engineering work needed to create drawings is scoped and quoted before it begins.

Can you modify an existing electrical product?

We can ask the manufacturer about the exact proposed modification. Feasibility depends on the design, materials, tooling, components and required performance. The accepted scope identifies which changes, samples, checks and documents are required.

Does a 3D-printed sample prove electrical performance?

An appearance or fit sample establishes only the features and checks specified for that sample. Electrical performance needs an agreed functional build and test plan. The manufacturer or technical partner confirms the materials, conditions, methods and evidence required for the production design.

How much do prototypes and moulds cost?

There is no single price for every electrical product. We request a breakdown for engineering, sample materials, manufacture, tooling, trials, revisions, tests and freight. The quote states what is included, the payment stages and which changes may add cost.

Who owns the moulds and development files?

The accepted agreement defines ownership, access, permitted use, storage, maintenance and release or transfer terms. Drawing and file rights are agreed separately from physical tools. Confirm these terms before authorising tooling or engineering payments.

What is the minimum order quantity?

The supplier confirms sample quantities and production minimums for each model or variant. Material and component purchases, tooling, production setup and the test plan can affect the minimum. Send your trial quantity and expected repeat volume so the factory can quote the available options.

Are development costs included in Pro or Basic?

They are included only where the accepted quotation says so. Pro has a $0 separate service fee, with procurement service costs included in the product quotation. Basic is 5% of agreed product value, minimum $100. Engineering, prototypes, tooling and tests are itemised or expressly included in the project offer.

Can I approve samples before committing to a bulk order?

Yes. Start with an agreed, separately quoted sample or feasibility stage. Confirm its deliverables, management-fee basis, costs and approval criteria. A bulk production order is placed only after its specification, quantity, price and terms are accepted.

Will the original product's certification cover the changed design?

Confirm this for the exact modification and destination. The responsible manufacturer or certification provider reviews changes affecting the certified design. Any additional evaluation, testing, documentation or branded listing has a separately agreed scope and cost.

What happens if a sample needs changes?

We record the findings against the sample revision and coordinate the supplier's proposal. You approve the next revision, scope, cost and timing before further work starts. Rework, repeat trials, refunds and other remedies follow the accepted project terms.

How long will development take?

The supplier proposes dates for the agreed stages. Drawing approval, components, tooling, sample revisions, tests and your decisions affect the schedule. We confirm milestones and changes; a prototype date and a production delivery date are agreed separately.

How should I share confidential drawings?

Tell us your confidentiality and file-sharing requirements before sending sensitive project files. Agree the permitted recipients, use of the information and any required confidentiality agreement before drawings are passed to a supplier or technical partner.
