Looking for current transformer manufacturers in Yueqing? This guide profiles ten local companies that publish current-transformer ranges and a Yueqing manufacturing or contact address. The selection covers low-voltage metering CTs, 10–35 kV indoor and outdoor units, gas-insulated-switchgear and ring-main designs, zero-sequence transformers and custom instrument current transformers.

A current transformer is not specified by voltage and ratio alone. The quotation must define whether the unit is for metering or protection, the accuracy class and rated burden, the number of cores, the short-time thermal and dynamic current, the installation drawing and the secondary-terminal arrangement. Use this guide to build a shortlist and then send every company the same technical schedule.

How this list was selected: Official company, product and contact pages were reviewed on 22 October 2026. The order is a research shortlist, not a quality, price, certification, export or “best” ranking. A published product range or address does not prove that BottomRace has audited every factory or that every model carries every approval. Confirm the legal entity, manufacturing site, exact model, current certificate and test scope before ordering.

Manufacturer profiles and questions to ask

1. Zhejiang Beicheng Electric Co., Ltd.

Short name: Beicheng Electric
Published location: Xinguang Industrial Zone, Liushi, Yueqing

Beicheng describes itself as a manufacturer that develops, designs, produces and sells instrument transformers. Its published catalogue separates 10 kV and 35 kV dry-type current transformers, oil-immersed current and voltage transformers, outdoor vacuum-switchgear current transformers, zero-sequence current transformers and low-voltage transformers. The same site also lists combined metering units. This makes the company relevant for buyers who need to compare several medium-voltage constructions, but the quotation should still identify the exact CT model and installation environment rather than referring only to a voltage class.

Before requesting a quote: State the system voltage, indoor or outdoor installation, primary current, ratio, secondary current, accuracy class, rated burden and protection-duty values. Identify the switchgear or metering application and the required core arrangement. For an oil-immersed or combined unit, include the insulation, tank, metering and connection requirements. Request the outline drawing, terminal marking, polarity, routine-test schedule and the type-test scope that names the offered model.

Specify the CT as a metering or protection device

A current-transformer price is comparable only when both quotations describe the same electrical duty and physical interface. Build a technical schedule with the fields below, send it unchanged to the shortlisted manufacturers, and require each supplier to list deviations in writing.

Include in your enquiry Ask each supplier to confirm
Application and location Metering or protection; indoor, outdoor, gas-insulated switchgear, ring-main unit, busbar, cable or low-voltage panel; the host equipment and installation drawing.
System and insulation Rated system voltage, highest voltage for equipment, insulation level, frequency, phase spacing, creepage distance and environmental conditions.
Primary and secondary current Rated primary current, ratio or ratios, 1 A or 5 A secondary, continuous thermal current, short-time thermal current and dynamic current.
Accuracy and burden Accuracy class for each core, rated burden, power-factor basis, instrument-security factor for metering and accuracy-limit factor for protection.
Protection performance Composite error, relay or breaker coordination, knee-point or excitation data where applicable, and the required short-circuit duty.
Cores, taps and polarity Number and purpose of cores, multi-ratio taps, terminal identification, polarity marks, secondary earthing and wiring diagram.
Construction and dimensions Window or busbar opening, overall dimensions, mounting holes, terminal boxes, cable access, weight and the relationship to the host equipment.
Insulation and materials Cast-resin, oil, gas or other insulation; core material; winding material; enclosure finish; fire, UV and corrosion requirements.
Tests and standards Applicable standard, routine tests, type tests, special tests, partial-discharge requirements, report language and the entity and factory covered by the documents.
Nameplate and documents Nameplate data and language, serial number, drawing revision, test record, installation instructions and packing or transport protection.
Production and change control Factory address, subcontracting, approved model revision, component or material substitution rules and written notification before a change.

Do not compare CTs by model name alone. A LZZBJ9 or LJZN1 label can cover different ratios, cores, accuracy classes, burdens, insulation levels and terminal arrangements. Ask for guaranteed values and the test basis in the order. For protection CTs, confirm the short-time thermal and dynamic ratings against the switchgear fault level; for metering CTs, confirm the burden of the complete secondary loop.

When a CT is part of a switchgear package, define the battery limits. State who supplies the CT, mounting hardware, secondary wiring, terminal blocks, earthing, test links and final switchgear tests. A CT that is mechanically suitable but not tested with the host assembly may leave an unresolved interface risk.

What to inspect during a current-transformer factory visit

Follow the selected CT through its production route. A useful factory visit links the winding, insulation, assembly and test records to the model in the quotation.

  • Incoming materials: review the core, conductor, insulation, resin or oil, terminal and nameplate identification, and how material batches are linked to production records.
  • Core and winding: compare the core type, winding direction, ratio taps, interlayer insulation and handling controls with the approved drawing.
  • Insulation process: for cast-resin CTs, review vacuum casting, curing and partial-discharge controls; for oil or gas designs, review the relevant drying, filling and sealing records.
  • Assembly and interfaces: check polarity, terminal marking, secondary wiring, mounting dimensions, gaskets, earthing points and the window or busbar arrangement.
  • Routine tests: review ratio, polarity, resistance, insulation resistance, power-frequency withstand, burden and accuracy tests, plus partial-discharge or other tests required for the selected design.
  • Type-test evidence: verify that the report identifies the offered model, ratings, factory and standards rather than only the company name.
  • Document control: check how the serial number links to the drawing, nameplate, test result and packing list, and how changes are notified before shipment.

Questions current-transformer buyers often ask

What is the difference between a metering CT and a protection CT?

They are selected for different jobs. A metering CT is chosen for accurate measurement at normal load and has limits intended to protect the connected instrument. A protection CT must reproduce fault current and remain accurate over the required fault range. The accuracy class, burden, composite error and short-time ratings should be tied to the actual relay or meter and the system fault level.

Should I ask for 1 A or 5 A secondary current?

The choice depends on the connected equipment, wiring distance, burden and project practice. Specify the secondary current required by the relay, meter or terminal arrangement. Do not change from 5 A to 1 A without checking the connected device’s input and the complete secondary-loop design.

How do I choose the CT ratio?

Start with the expected normal current, maximum continuous load and fault current. The ratio must leave room for accurate metering while providing the protection device with a measurable fault signal. The final choice should be checked against the relay or meter settings, rated burden and the switchgear fault level.

What does the rated burden mean?

It is the secondary load at which the declared accuracy is maintained, usually expressed in VA at a specified power factor. Include the wiring, terminals, test links, meter or relay input and any connected instruments in the burden calculation. A CT that is accurate on a bench may fail the requirement after the secondary cable and devices are connected.

Why does the installation drawing matter?

The same nominal CT can be supplied with different windows, terminal positions, mounting holes and clearances. The drawing confirms that the unit fits the switchgear, busbar or cable, and that the secondary wiring can be routed and earthed correctly. Approve the drawing and nameplate data before production.
