Looking for explosion-proof electrical manufacturers in Yueqing and Wenzhou? This guide profiles nine companies based in Yueqing and one in Wenzhou’s Longwan District. Their published ranges cover Ex lighting, distribution and control boxes, operator stations, junction boxes, cable entries, fans, plugs and sockets, and related components. Start with the hazardous-area classification and the exact product function, then compare companies that publish the relevant construction and model documentation.

TORMIN is included at the request of the publisher but is not a Yueqing company. Its official address is in Longwan District, Wenzhou. The other nine entries are Yueqing-based according to their published contact or company pages. This distinction matters when planning a factory visit and when checking where the offered model is manufactured.

How this list was selected: Official company, contact and product pages were reviewed on 22 October 2026. The order is a research shortlist, not a quality, price, certification, export or “best” ranking. A published address, product range or certificate library does not prove that BottomRace has audited every factory or that every model carries every approval. Confirm the legal entity, manufacturing site, exact configuration, current certificate and marking before ordering.

Specify the hazardous area and the exact product

Explosion protection is not a single product label. The required protection concept depends on the atmosphere, zone or division, gas or dust group, temperature class, equipment protection level and installation conditions. The enclosure, circuit, cable entries and accessories must be assessed as a compatible assembly.

Include in your enquiry Ask the supplier to confirm
Area and atmosphere Zone or division, gas or combustible dust, gas group or dust group, temperature class or dust temperature reference, ambient range and outdoor or corrosive conditions.
Protection concept Required Ex method such as Ex d, Ex e, Ex i, Ex t or pressurisation, together with the equipment protection level and any special conditions of use.
Product function Complete electrical schematic or single-line diagram, control sequence, load schedule, number of ways, operator functions and interfaces with other equipment.
Enclosure construction Material and grade, dimensions, wall thickness, flameproof joint dimensions where applicable, gasket or sealing arrangement, hinges, fasteners and corrosion protection.
Cable entry and termination Entry thread, quantity and direction, cable type and diameter, glands, stopping boxes, armour or shield bonding, terminal ratings and minimum clearances.
Model-specific certificate Certificate number and issue status, exact model and variants covered, marking, special conditions, certificate holder and manufacturing location.
Components Certificates or suitability evidence for breakers, contactors, terminals, lamps, batteries, fans and other components that affect the final assembly.
Temperature and IP Temperature class, ambient rating, surface-temperature assumptions, IP rating, test basis and the effect of sunlight, enclosures or added components.
Marking and documents Nameplate artwork, Ex marking, ratings, serial or batch identification, installation and maintenance instructions, declaration and routine test records.
Production and change control Factory address, responsibility for final assembly, approved drawing revision, component substitution rules and notification before a design or supplier change.

Do not treat a company certificate as a product certificate. An ISO 9001 certificate covers a management system. An ATEX or IECEx product certificate has a defined model scope and may include schedules and conditions of use. A test report can support a design without proving that a particular production unit is marked and documented correctly. Ask for the complete document package and check that the model, ratings and production responsibility match the quotation.

For a custom distribution or control assembly, send the final schematic before the enclosure is frozen. Adding a different breaker, terminal, cable gland, display or ventilation device can change the internal heating, spacing, wiring or protection concept. Record the approved component list and drawing revision so that a later substitution does not quietly change the delivered product.

What to inspect during an explosion-proof factory visit

A useful visit follows the actual production route and checks the features that control safety, not only the showroom. Confirm in advance which operations are performed at the proposed site and which are outsourced.

  • Incoming material and identification: review how enclosure castings, plates, bars, seals and purchased components are identified, inspected and traced to the production batch.
  • Casting and machining: inspect the condition of flameproof surfaces, joint dimensions, machining marks, porosity, thread quality and protection against damage during handling.
  • Fabrication and welding: for larger boxes and cabinets, review plate cutting, bending, welding, cleaning and surface preparation before coating.
  • Seals and assembly: check gasket storage, compression, cable-entry preparation, fastener control, torque instructions and protection of flameproof joints during assembly.
  • Electrical build: compare the assembly with the approved schematic and component list, then review terminal spacing, wiring, labelling and component certificates.
  • Testing: observe the routine checks used for the offered product, such as dielectric, insulation, continuity, functional, leakage or pressure tests where applicable.
  • Marking and documents: compare the nameplate and Ex marking with the certificate, approved drawing and customer order. Check how instruction manuals and test records are packed.
  • Change control: ask how the factory controls a new component, supplier, painting process, cable entry or model variant that could affect certification.

Questions explosion-proof buyers often ask

Does an ATEX or IECEx logo on a website cover every product?

No. Product certification has a defined model scope, marking and often special conditions of use. Ask for the certificate that names the exact model or family and configuration you intend to buy. Check its current status, certificate holder, manufacturing location and any schedules that limit the permitted variants.

What is the difference between Zone and Division classification?

They are different systems used by different markets and project specifications. Zone-based classification is common in IEC and ATEX practice, while Division-based classification is used in North American practice. The product standard, marking and certification system must match the project’s required system and local acceptance rules. Do not convert a classification casually without the project’s responsible engineer.

What do Ex d, Ex e, Ex i and Ex t mean?

These letters describe different protection concepts. Ex d is flameproof enclosure, Ex e is increased safety, Ex i is intrinsic safety and Ex t is protection by enclosure for dust atmospheres. Selection depends on the equipment, circuit, environment and required EPL. A product may combine more than one concept, so read the complete marking rather than only the first letters.

Can I add my own breaker or cable gland to a certified enclosure?

Only within the conditions allowed by the certificate, product standard and manufacturer’s instructions. Components, internal heating, spacing, wiring and cable entries can affect the assembly. Send the proposed component list to the enclosure manufacturer and obtain written approval for the final configuration before production.

How should I compare quotations from several factories?

Use one technical schedule with the same area classification, electrical ratings, enclosure material, IP requirement, cable entries, documentation and test requirements. Require each quotation to state the exact model, approved drawing revision, certificate scope and production address. A low price is not comparable if one offer excludes glands, terminals, testing, documents or a certified final assembly.
